Matthew Hotchko, Ph.D., MBA
Matthew Hotchko is the President of the Marketing Research Bureau and publisher of International Blood/Plasma News. He joined the Marketing Research Bureau in 2011 as Director of Research, was promoted to Vice President in 2015 and became the president in January 2020.
Dr. Hotchko has over a dozen years of experience in the blood and plasma proteins industry, where he began his professional career shortly after finishing is Ph.D. in Biochemistry. Today, he is responsible for all aspects of running the Marketing Research Bureau, including client management, data collection, analysis and report production. He regularly speaks on the usage and trends of the plasma proteins industry at conferences worldwide.
Prior to joining the Marketing Research Bureau, Dr. Hotchko worked at Baxter’s BioScience division for plasma proteins in market intelligence (now Takeda) from 2008 to 2011. Previously, he worked as a research scientist investigating protein-protein interactions and as a project consultant for startups in the business development area.
Dr. Hotchko received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego and his MBA from San Diego State University.
Patrick Robert, Ph.D.
Patrick Robert has over thirty years experience in the field of blood and plasma, having worked in both the non-profit and commercial sectors. After holding various positions with consulting firms and international organizations such as the World Health Organization(WHO) in India (1972) and the French Social Studies Corporation (SEDES) in France, Ivory Coast and Gabon (1976), his involvement in the blood field began in 1977 as he was appointed Administrator of the Blood Transfusion Service Department of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Geneva, Switzerland.
In 1985, he moved to California and worked as a Market Research Analyst with the Marketing Research Bureau, Inc. while serving as Editor of International Blood/Plasma News. In 1987, he was hired by Bayer/Miles to become Marketing Research Manager of the Biological Products Division of this company’s Pharmaceutical Group in Connecticut. In 1993, he joined the Marketing Research Bureau again and became the President in 1995.
Mr. Robert holds a B.A. and a doctorate in Health Economics from the University of Aix en Provence, France, a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University and he was a visiting student at the University of Tübingen, Germany.
Keith Berman, MPH, MBA
Keith Berman provides market research, business planning and reimbursement consulting services to biomedical products firms. His work for biotherapeutics and medical device clients focuses on the delivery of critical information, in-depth analysis and practical solutions for product development and marketing challenges.
From 1990 until he founded Health Research Associates (HRA) in 1996, Mr. Berman served as Director of Marketing Services for Siemens Pacesetter and MiniMed Technologies, affiliated medical device firms involved in cardiac arrhythmia management and insulin pump therapy for diabetes control. He was previously employed for three years in market research and product development at the Hyland division of Baxter Healthcare Corporation.
Since 1989, Mr. Berman has served as Editor of International Blood/Plasma News, an industry newsletter for manufacturers of blood, plasma and biotechnology based human therapeutics and diagnostics.
Earlier employment experience includes basic research in immunology and applied research in human infectious disease, genetics, cancer and neuropathology at UCLA and the City of Hope National Medical Center.
Mr. Berman earned a B.A. in Biological Science at UC Berkeley. He earned an MBA in Marketing and an MPH in Health Services Management in a concurrent degree program at UCLA.
Dana Miloslavich joined the Marketing Research Bureau in January 2022 as Director of Research. She brings nearly 20 years of pharmaceutical marketing, sales and business development experience, most recently serving as a consultant to MRB and advisor to a private investment group evaluating opportunities to build a plasma fractionation facility in Latin America.
Dana previously worked at the Venezuelan government-owned plasma fractionator Quimbiotec, where she held various positions of increasing responsibility in sales and business management. Over her 10-year tenure at the company, Dana negotiated purchasing agreements for source/recovered plasma and various plasma fractions, opened new Latin American distribution outlets for Quimbiotec’s products, coordinated recovered plasma procurement from the country’s network of 150 blood centers, expanded domestic source plasma collections, and headed clinical and marketing strategy development for a number of new biologicals and vaccines. Dana began her drug industry career at Grupo Farma, where she worked in sales and business development roles.
Dana graduated from Universidad Central de Venezuela with a bachelor degree in science, and completed graduate-level programs in healthcare management and marketing and sales at Universidad Catolica and IESA School of Management in Caracas.
Cindy Lynn started at Marketing Research Bureau, Inc. in October of 1999 as an Executive Assistant, eventually adding the role of IBPN Subscription Manager to her duties. She has handled many aspects of running the office, including, preparing customer proposals and conference presentations, data entry and formatting for all published market research reports. She also managed accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, payment tracking and payroll processing. In her role as Subscription Manager of IBPN, she prepares the monthly IBPN newsletter for distribution, and manages subscribers and subscription renewals. More recently, her work has included writing parts of market research reports. Over the years, Cindy has acquired a solid knowledge of the plasma business and of its players worldwide.
Prior to joining MRB, Cindy was the Support Services Manager and Assistant to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Environmental Data Resources (EDR). In this role, she worked directly for the company’s CEO and the Chairman of the Board. She supervised administrative staff, assisted Account Executives and Regional Managers, and coordinated multi-city seminars and tradeshows, trained new employees, wrote customer proposals, and prepared presentations.
